MEMBERS AT YELLOW: VISIT TEAMSTERS CAREER CENTER NOW
All Teamsters impacted by Yellow Corp.’s profound mismanagement and its recent shutdown of operations are strongly urged to visit the Teamsters Career Center for state-by-state resources of current job openings at union facilities and other valuable tools.
The online database can quickly assist members in need with good-paying union work opportunities, and resources regarding health care and retirement benefits. Members at Yellow and other companies can use the Teamsters Career Center to search job openings or find benefit information by local union or geographic area.
“The Teamsters Career Center offers a range of services and resources, including up-to-date openings at Teamster employers by local. The Freight Division will work closely with members as they navigate this difficult time,” said John A. Murphy, Teamsters National Freight Director. “Our members’ loss of work at Yellow was no fault of their own. In fact, they gave billions back to this dysfunctional freight company for decades. While Yellow’s closure represents one last shameful act by a greedy employer, the Teamsters will never desert our brothers and sisters. Our commitment is as strong as ever to protect members nationwide.”
In addition to finding work, Teamsters can use the Career Center to file for unemployment and utilize services to assist any Teamster family facing hardship. Affected members should visit Teamster.org/CareerCenter.
Locals Representing 340K UPS Workers Nearly Unanimously Recommend Contract
UPS TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNIONS ENDORSE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
(WASHINGTON) – Teamsters local unions representing 340,000 full- and part-time workers at UPS voted 161-1 on Monday to endorse the tentative agreement reached with the delivery giant on July 25 and recommend its passage by the full membership.
Of the 176 local unions with UPS members, 14 affiliates failed to show up to a meeting in Washington, DC, to review the tentative agreement.
At least two representatives from all other local unions discussed more than 60 changes and improvements to the UPS Teamsters National Master Agreement, the largest private-sector collective bargaining agreement in North America. The gains achieved during negotiations, which occurred regionally and nationally since January, are larger and more lucrative than any previous Teamsters contract at UPS. The tentative agreement, valued at $30 billion, establishes record wage increases for all workers for the life of the contract, installation of air conditioning in new vehicles, the end of an unfair two-tier wage system, catch-up raises for part-timers, Martin Luther King Day as a paid holiday for the first time, new language to prevent forced overtime on days off, and other huge wins.
Now that local unions have nearly unanimously endorsed the tentative agreement, all rank-and-file UPS Teamsters will have the chance to vote on ratification from August 3-22.
“The entire UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee stands behind this historic contract and our UPS local unions have resoundingly voted to endorse it,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Our tentative agreement is richer, stronger, and more far-reaching than any settlement ever negotiated in the history of American organized labor. The Teamsters are immensely proud of reaching agreement with UPS to improve the lives of our members, their families, and working people across the country.”

UPS TEAMSTERS COMMITTEE MEETS FOR LAST TIME TO ENDORSE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
Officially meeting for the last time since April 17, the UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee convened today in Washington, DC, to review all final changes and improvements to the new tentative national master agreement.
The contract, reached with UPS on Tuesday, includes 60 new and revised article improvements — more achievements for members than any prior contract cycle, with zero concessions. The historic tentative agreement includes record-setting wage increases for all UPS Teamsters across all classifications, catch-up raises for part-timers, pension and health and welfare protections, air conditioning in new vehicles and other heat stress safeguards, and an end to forced overtime, among other significant gains.
After reviewing new contract language, the Teamsters’ national committee again unanimously endorsed the tentative deal. The agreement will go to the full UPS Teamsters membership for review and ratification next week.
A two-person meeting of representatives from all 176 Teamsters locals with UPS members will be held on Monday, July 31, to consider the final agreement. Upon formal recommendation, contract summaries and voting instructions will be mailed to all UPS Teamsters and voting will open on August 3. Members will have until August 22 to continue to review the terms of the new agreement and electronically cast their vote.
A full copy of the UPS Teamsters Tentative National Master Agreement is available now for members to read and review on the UPS Teamsters app. Examples of new wage increases for UPS job classifications is available on the app as well to help members see tentative wage gains for their position and seniority.
Teamsters reach Historic UPS Tentative Agreement for it’s workers
Today, the Teamsters reached the most historic tentative agreement for workers in the history of UPS, protecting and rewarding more than 340,000 UPS Teamsters nationwide. The overwhelmingly lucrative contract raises wages for all workers, creates more full-time jobs, and includes dozens of workplace protections and improvements. The UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee unanimously endorsed the five-year tentative agreement.
“Rank-and-file UPS Teamsters sacrificed everything to get this country through a pandemic and enabled UPS to reap record-setting profits. Teamster labor moves America. The union went into this fight committed to winning for our members. We demanded the best contract in the history of UPS, and we got it,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “UPS has put $30 billion in new money on the table as a direct result of these negotiations. We’ve changed the game, battling it out day and night to make sure our members won an agreement that pays strong wages, rewards their labor, and doesn’t require a single concession. This contract sets a new standard in the labor movement and raises the bar for all workers.”
“UPS came dangerously close to putting itself on strike, but we kept firm on our demands. In my more than 40 years in Louisville representing members at Worldport — the largest UPS hub in the country — I have never seen a national contract that levels the playing field for workers so dramatically as this one. The agreement puts more money in our members’ pockets and establishes a full range of new protections for them on the job,” said Teamsters General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman. “We stayed focused on our members and fought like hell to get everything that full-time and part-time UPS Teamsters deserve.”
