SUPPLEMENTAL COMMITTEES WORKING HARD FOR UPS TEAMSTERS

After meeting all week and throughout the day on Thursday, the Teamsters National Negotiating Committee met this evening to hear reports from supplemental negotiating committees on the status of bargaining. While significant progress has been made on a number of supplements and riders, major proposals remain on the table and committees will continue working to reach agreements on open items.

The Teamsters National Negotiating Committee continues to push UPS’s negotiators to work overtime and work harder than they ever have while reminding them that this is nothing compared to what our members go through day in and day out. This rank-and-file perspective is what drives the committees in these negotiations.

“Including the rank-and-file is the key to being unified,” said Glenn Butts, a Local 653 package driver in Massachusetts who is on the New England Supplement Negotiating Committee. “The transparency allows all of our brothers and sisters across the country to see what we are getting done throughout the bargaining process. Our committee is fighting hard for all the members.”
