UPS SUPPLEMENTAL BARGAINING COMMITTEES FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE COMPANY
The UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee continues to push back against the company over the issues our members care most about at supplemental negotiations across the country.
The National Negotiating Committee met this evening via Zoom to report on today’s progress as the union continues to lock horns with the company to resolve regional supplements and riders. Marathon bargaining sessions took place last week, throughout the weekend and will continue every day this week.
Teamster negotiating committees are standing firm on proposals including more full-time jobs, improved bidding and grievance procedures, breaks for part-timers, pension increases, and preserving health care benefits.
“We’ve been working long days from the early morning to late at night,” said Joel Palabrica, a rank-and-file member of the UPS National Negotiating committee from Local 38 who works as a part-timer in Everett, Washington. “More pay and better benefits for part-timers is what I want to see in this contract.”
National negotiations are scheduled to begin Monday, May 1, but will not convene until the regional supplements are resolved.
